Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy today openly accused the current Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu of being the mastermind behind the liquor mafia.
Jagan dismissed Naidu’s claims against him and challenged Chandrababu how he can arrest him when the actual crime was committed by Chandrababu.
"Will Chandrababu arrest me while he himself committed the mistake? He paved the way for his allied distilleries to benefit, orchestrating a major scam in the liquor sector. Yet, he shamelessly blames us," Jagan said during a press briefing.
Jagan also highlighted the efforts made during his tenure to ensure transparency.
"We tagged QR codes on every bottle, which were scanned to maintain transparency in sales. Everything is on record with no siphoning."
He further accused Chandrababu Naidu of using intimidation tactics against officials.
"Chandrababu intimidates, creates fake witnesses and testimonials, and is pushing the state towards anarchy by targeting small clerks and superintendents in the breweries department of the YCP regime."
Jagan also referred to Vasudeva Reddy’s case in liquor issue, stating that he had filed anticipatory bail petitions in the High Court three times, citing harassment and intimidation by the present government.
"These are the kinds of atrocities Chandrababu indulges in," he said.
We need to see how TDP responds to this.
