Jagan Asks, Gadkari Gives, What a Change?

Jagan Asks, Gadkari Gives, What a Change?

Political equations between the BJP at the central level and the YSR Congress in the state level seem to be changing slowly.

This change was visible during the visit of Union Minister Nitin Gadkari to Vijayawada on Wednesday.

When chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy wanted the Central minister for sanction of 20 Road Over Bridges (RoBs) in the state across the railway lines, the Union Minister sanctioned 30 ROBs, without a second thought.

The Union Minister also announced six green field express highways through the state, which would cost the Central government a handful of crores of rupees.

Nitin Gadkari, who is considered the number two in the Central government and next only to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, looked more in favour of Andhra Pradesh, though they knew that they would not get even a single seat here.

The Union Minister, who headed the Jal Shakti ministry at the time of bifurcation when the Polavaram project was declared a national project, had promised to intervene and help the state to get funds and complete it.

Gadkari also promised to help the state in the fields of agriculture and industries besides inter-linking of rivers.

Even as the BJP leaders from Andhra Pradesh keep criticising Jagan Mohan Reddy every day, Gadkari took time to praise the chief minister much to the chagrin of his own party leaders.

What all this indicates is the changing approach of the BJP leadership towards Jagan Mohan Reddy, which the party leaders from AP should realise.

Is this change because of the increasing strength of YSR Congress in Rajya Sabha and anticipated negative trends for the BJP in the elections to five northern states!
