Jagan Appears Before Nampally CBI Court in DA Case

Former Chief Minister and YSRCP president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy appeared before the special CBI court in the disproportionate assets (DA) case at the Nampally criminal court complex on Thursday, amid heavy security.

Jagan flew into Begumpet Airport from Vijayawada and then travelled to the court by road.

He appeared in person following the court’s direction asking him to be present for the hearing of the CBI’s DA case on or before November 21.

The court issued this order after the CBI strongly opposed Jagan’s petition seeking exemption from personal appearance.

Hyderabad police arranged tight security throughout Jagan’s visit. Traffic restrictions were imposed to ensure the smooth movement of his convoy.

A large number of YSRCP supporters and local leaders gathered at both Begumpet Airport and the Nampally court premises to catch a glimpse of him, making crowd control difficult for the police.

As a precaution, police did not allow outsiders into the court complex during the proceedings.
