It's Yarlagadda vs Vamsi again in Gannavaram

It is going to be a fight between Yarlagadda Venkat Rao versus Vallabhaneni Vamsi Mohan in Gannavaram assembly constituency of Krishna district in the coming assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh.

The only difference is that both would be swapping their original parties.

While Vamsi, who had won on the Telugu Desam Party ticket in 2019 assembly elections, would be contesting on YSR Congress party ticket, Yarlagadda, who had unsuccessfully contested the Gannavaram election on YSRC ticket, would now be fighting on behalf of the TDP.

As expected, the TDP has decided to pitch Yarlagadda, who recently defected from the YSR Congress party against Vamsi.

On Wednesday, TDP Andhra Pradesh unit president K Atchennaidu announced appointment of Yarlagadda as the party in-charge of Gannavaram assembly constituency, as per the directions of party president N Chandrababu Naidu.

A large number of YSRC leaders and cadre, backing Yarlagadda also joined the TDP in the presence of party general secretary Nara Lokesh, who has been undertaking padayatra in the constituency for the last two days.

Lokesh also openly announced the candidature of Yarlagadda for Gannavaram. He called upon the party cadre to elect Yarlagadda in the coming elections and restore the prestige of the party.

Describing Vamsi as “junior psycho,” Lokesh alleged that the MLA, who had won with the support of TDP workers, was now harassing them by foisting false cases against them.

“I will take the responsibility of protecting every party worker. Let us all work together to banish Vamsi from politics,” he said.

Lokesh also paid tributes to late Bachula Arjunudu, who had been the in-charge of the party in Gannavaram till his last breath. The party would stand by his family and do justice to it by all means, he added.
