Vundavalli Predicts Easy Win For Jagan In 2029

Vundavalli Predicts Easy Win For Jagan In 2029

Former Congress MP and political analyst Vundavalli Arun Kumar, known for his sensational political comments and predictions, has made another bold statement.

On Monday, he predicted that the 2029 Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections could turn into a one-sided battle in favour of YSR Congress Party chief Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.

However, Vundavalli also added an important condition.

According to him, Jagan can have a clear advantage only if the present ruling alliance breaks apart. The current coalition includes the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), Jana Sena Party, and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

“If the alliance continues even in 2029, it will be a tough fight. But if the alliance breaks, it will become a one-sided war in favour of Jagan Mohan Reddy,” he said.

Speaking in an interview to a YouTube channel, Vundavalli said Jagan’s political graph has improved, and there is also a visible anti-incumbency mood against the current government.

Still, he said the final outcome will largely depend on whether the ruling alliance stays united or not.

He observed that the future of the alliance is ultimately in the hands of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, arguing that the BJP will take whatever decision is necessary to retain power at the Centre.

According to him, the BJP functions with a clear long-term political strategy, and alliance decisions are made based on electoral convenience and national calculations.

“Political alliances survive only as long as there is a need. Once that need is over, they part ways,” Vundavalli remarked.

Referring to the 2024 elections, he said the contest became one-sided the moment Pawan Kalyan and N. Chandrababu Naidu joined hands.

According to him, Pawan Kalyan had been politically cornered during the previous YSRCP regime and had therefore made up his mind to defeat Jagan.

Vundavalli said the result of the 2024 election was practically decided on the day Pawan Kalyan met Chandrababu Naidu in Rajahmundry Central Jail.

He also predicted that if the campaign around Nara Lokesh succeeding Chandrababu Naidu as Chief Minister gains momentum in the future, it could lead to a split in Kapu votes.

He further said the YSRCP had already been projected as a party that is against both the Kamma and Kapu communities, which could continue to shape future political narratives.

On the Amaravati issue, Vundavalli said the Constitution does not clearly define the term “capital” in the way it is being politically debated today.

He felt the YSRCP should have clearly stated its position inside the Assembly itself when Amaravati was chosen as the capital after the 2014 elections.

He also recalled that the later proposal of three capitals reflected a separate political strategy, and said every party had handled the capital issue from its own political angle.

Vundavalli also touched upon the growing religious controversies in Andhra Pradesh, saying such debates were not as visible in the past and that the political discourse in the state has changed significantly after 2014.
