YSR Congress chief Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy had encouraged a film on the life of his father late Dr Y S Rajasekhar Reddy.
The film – Yatra – was released in February 2019, just before the general elections and the movie had paid rich dividends to Jagan Mohan Reddy in the elections.
Malayalam actor Mammootty played the lead role which had enhanced the image of Dr Rajasekhar Reddy.
Now, with an eye on the 2024 general elections, it is widely said that Jagan Mohan Reddy is planning his biopic.
Tollywood Director Mahi Raghavapudi, who directed the Yatra film is said to be ready with the script for the Jagan’s biopic.
The story would start with the political entry of Jagan in 2009, death of Dr Rajasekhar Reddy and the historic padayatra from Idupulapaya to Itchapuram.
The film is likely to conclude with Jagan Mohan Reddy taking oath as chief minister.
The director is also said to have contacted Tamil hero Vishal to play the lead role in this biopic.
Sources say that Jagan Mohan Reddy had gone through the script but had not given a green signal for the movie yet.
It is said that the director had also come up with two titles for the movie – “Real Hero” and “Jagan Ane Nenu”.
Unconfirmed sources say that Jagan Mohan Reddy is still working on the script for improvisation.
