If I were to be CM, TDP will go empty: Peddireddy

Andhra Pradesh state panchayat raj minister Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy is turning more and more aggressive against Telugu Desam Party led by former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu with every passing day.

Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, Peddireddy said the TDP president had become frustrated after his party lost miserably in the gram panchayat elections.

“In the municipal elections, too, the YSRC will win more than 90 per cent seats. And Naidu is sure to go mad,” he said.

He said the TDP was fast losing its presence in the state.

“Just because Jagan Mohan Reddy is the chief minister of the state, the TDP is able to survive with a few MLAs. If I were to become the chief minister of the state, the TDP would have gone empty by now. Only Naidu would have left in the TDP,” Peddireddy said.

The minister ruled out the resignation of the YSR Congress party MLAs and MPs in protest against the privatisation of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant.

“The privatisation will not stop if we resign. We should put up a strong fight together to prevent privatisation,” he said.

He said if the elections were held again after resignation, the YSRC will win 170 assembly seats and the TDP will be the biggest loser.
