The reconstitution of the cabinet by YSR Congress party president and chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy has certainly created some disgruntlement among a section of the party.
But it appears to have caused more concern in the Bharatiya Janata Party, which has expressed dissatisfaction over the formation of the new cabinet.
BJP state president Somu Veerraju alleged that those who were deeply involved in corruption were taken into the state cabinet.
He wondered how Karumuri, who was involved in term deposit scam, was given the cabinet post.
He sought to know whether the ministers in the Jagan cabinet had any real power.
“Can Jagan give CM post to an OBC candidate? Did former home minister Mekathoti Sucharita have any power to transfer even a police inspector or can the new home minister Taneti Vanita transfer even a constable?” he asked.
BJP MLC Madhav also demanded that if Jagan had so much concern for weaker sections, he should make a BC as the YSRC president.
“The new cabinet will not make any difference to the state administration,” he said.
BJP MP G V L Narasimha Rao said the cabinet reshuffle has exposed chinks in the YSRC party.
“Till the other day, Jagan was considered to be the sole authority in the party and everybody was subservient to him. Now, people have started coming out against him and revolt,” he pointed out.
