Galla, Bhuma meet BJP leader: What's up?

In an interesting development in Andhra politics, Telugu Desam Party MP Galla Jayadev and former Andhra minister Bhuma Akhila Priya met senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader and Union minister of state for home G Kishan Reddy on Saturday afternoon.

The two TDP leaders closeted with Kishan Reddy at the latter’s residence in Hyderabad for over half an hour and reportedly discussed on the ongoing political developments in the Telugu states.

According to party sources, Galla brought the notice of Kishan Reddy the recent developments in Palanadu region, particularly the alleged attacks on the TDP workers in the region.

He also discussed the circumstances that led to the death of former assembly speaker Kodela Sivaprasada Rao.

At the same time, Akhila also brought to the notice of Kishan Reddy the alleged harassment of her followers by the police in Kurnool district by foisting false cases against them.

She reportedly appealed to Kishan Reddy to see that peaceful atmosphere prevailed in Kurnool district.

Kishan Reddy reportedly assured the TDP leaders that steps would be taken to bring normalcy in faction-ridden areas.

However, the meeting of Galla and Bhuma with Kishan Reddy triggered speculations in the media circles that they might be looking towards joining the BJP.

Especially with regard to Bhuma Akhila, there has been a talk since the recent elections that she might defect to the BJP to protect her cadre and followers.

However, she has still been continuing in the TDP. May be, she will take a decision at an appropriate time depending on the situation.
