Filmmaker BLASTS Podcasters & Astrologers

Filmmaker and producer Karan Johar has launched a fiery tirade against what he calls a toxic “sub-culture” of podcasters and astrologers, accusing them of spreading venom and disrespecting the film industry under the guise of free speech.

In a strongly worded Instagram story, Johar wrote, “One sub-culture of podcasters (basically chat shows with new-age terminology) have emerged from woods no GPS can locate! They invite guests who have nothing to lose, who haven’t been relevant since World War 2, and those guests spew venom about hardworking, legendary members of our fraternity. This needs to STOP!”

He didn’t stop there — slamming astrologers and psychics for peddling sensational “death predictions.”

“Giving awful, scary revelations about people’s impending death is both insensitive and disgusting! Free speech? YES. Clickbait for followers? NO!” he fumed.

Johar’s frustration comes as he balances industry criticism with his own evolving career.

Recently, while celebrating the upcoming release of Dhadak 2, starring Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri, he reflected on his 30 years in cinema - admitting that while he once chased box-office numbers, today he seeks meaningful stories that resonate beyond spectacle.

From his blockbuster debut Kuch Kuch Hota Hai to his latest Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, Johar has always delivered drama with grandeur.

But his latest outburst shows he’s just as fiery off-screen when it comes to defending Bollywood from what he sees as toxic noise.
