Film producer makes it to TTD in place of scamster

The Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy on Friday appointed little known Telugu film producer Dasari Kiran Kumar as a member of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) trust board.

Orders to this effect were issued by principal secretary (endowments) M Hari Jawaharlal.

The appointment of Kiran Kumar is subject to the writ petition pending in the high court, which is hearing a petition on the appointment of over 50 members to the trust board.

52-year-old Kiran Kumar has produced a few Telugu films, including Vangaveeti, Siddharth, Genius, Ramleela, Vasta Nee Venuka, etc.

How he became closer to the YSR Congress party and the chief minister is not immediately known, but he is learnt to have done a lot of lobbying to get the TTD trust board membership.

Kiran Kumar’s appointment comes in the wake of resignation of realtor Boodati Laxminarayana, Managing Director of Sahiti Infratec Ventures India Pvt Ltd, who was recently arrested in a major real estate fraud.

Lakshminarayana, too, managed to get the appointment as the TTD trust board member through lobbying.

There are allegations that the Sahiti group collected Rs 900 crore from 2,500 customers in the name of a pre-launch offer in a housing complex in Ameenpur, but did not start the project.

The police registered a case based on a customer’s complaint.
