Farmers, don't fall into Naidu's trap again!

With the agitation by farmers of Amaravati capital region against the three-capitals plan getting intensified with every passing day, the YSR Congress party leadership has got into action to control the impending damage to the party at least in this party.

Close on the heels of municipal administration minister Botsa Satyanarayana’s assurance that the government would protect the interests of the Amaravati farmers, YSRC general secretary and Rajya Sabha member V Vijay Sai Reddy on Tuesday appealed to farmers not to fall into the trap of Telugu Desam Party president and former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu.

The YSRCP MP advised the farmers of Thulluru not to believe Chandrababu Naidu, as the latter had cheated them by showing them a colourful dream and grabbed their lands in the past.

“Naidu is going to cheat you once again in the name of Amaravati. In the past, he had acquired your lands under land pooling and distributed the same to his near and dear in the name of capital development,” Sai Reddy pointed out.

Sai Reddy said all the problems will be solved once the farmers keep themselves away from Chandrababu Naidu.

The YSRC leaders apparently are planning to neutralise any impact of Naidu’s visit to Amaravati on Monday to extend his solidarity with the agitating farmers of 29 villages. The agitation has reached seventh day on Tuesday.

The agitation which began on a small scale has started gaining support from all sections of people, including opposition parties. A tense situation prevailed at Thulluru when the police stopped the farmers from erecting tents to continue their protests.
