Ex-TDP MLA attacks Naidu, pats Jagan!

Telugu Desam Party led by former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu making all out efforts to attack the ruling YSR Congress party over reduction of Backward Classes reservations in the local body elections to get some mileage in the elections.

But the party received a rude shock on Monday, when former TDP MLA and president of AP Backward Classes Welfare Association R Krishnaiah made a scathing attack on Naidu and showered a lot of praises on YSRC president and chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Speaking to reporters, Krishnaiah said Jagan had taken a historic decision of providing additional 10 per cent reservation to the BCs in the party tickets, since it was not possible give under statute.

“No other chief minister in the country had taken such a decision, not even a BC chief minister,” he said.

Describing Jagan as a sincere chief minister, the BC leader said the decision to give additional 10 per cent quota to BCs would help provide thousands of posts to the BCs in the local bodies.

“He has also given 50 per cent quota to weaker sections in all government posts, which shows his sincerity,” he said.

On the other hand, Krishnaiah described Naidu as a betrayer of BCs. He alleged that it was Naidu who had obstructed the BC reservations by going to the court.

“It was the TDP leader who moved the Supreme Court challenging 34 per cent quota to the BCs. They would teach him a fitting lesson to the TDP in the elections,” he said.
