Ex-CBI JD gives clean chit to Naidu!

Retired IPS officer and former joint director of Central Bureau of Investigation V V Lakshminarayana, who has virtually ruined the political ambitions of YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy in the last seven years, is now putting up a man of virtues and values.

Lakshminarayana, who is now contesting the Lok Sabha elections from Visakhapatnam on Jana Sena Party ticket in an apparent understanding with the Telugu Desam Party, is trying hard to convince the people that he had no vengeance against Jagan nor had he done the investigation into the latter’s alleged quid pro quo case at the behest of some individuals or a government.

He virtually gave a clean chit to himself and also to TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu saying he had taken up investigation into the Jagan’s case only on the directions of the then combined Andhra Pradesh high court, but not under the directions of any state government or any particular leader (read: Naidu).

“There were no political compulsions on me for taking up investigation into Jagan’s assets case,” he said, in an interview to a popular newspaper and television channel.

Lakshminarayana refused to make any comments against Jagan’s allegations against him.

“I know, whatever I do, Jagan attributes political motive to it. But I can’t help because that is his level of understanding. It is because of either his brought up or education,” he said.

He made it clear that he had not met Naidu during the course of investigation into Jagan’s case.

“I met Naidu only once – during recent Titli cyclone, but I did not have any interaction with him,” he said.

Any takers for his statements?
