Defiant volunteers to be sacked, warns Dharmana

Defiant volunteers to be sacked, warns Dharmana

There has been a criticism that the YSR Congress party government has been using village and ward volunteers for political purposes.

Several ministers, party leaders and MPs openly declared that the volunteers were the YSRC party workers.

Very recently, Election Commission of India also gave an order banning deployment of village and ward volunteers in election-related activities, as they were all YSRC party worker, as claimed by the party leaders.

On Friday, senior YSR Congress party leader and Andhra Pradesh revenue minister Dharmana Prasada Rao also asserted that the village volunteers would have to be loyal to the ruling party and should go against the interest of the Jagan government.

Speaking at the Gadapa gadapaku Prabhutvam programme in Srikakulam rural mandal, the minister sent a strong warning to the village volunteers that if they acted against the government, they would be sacked.

“We won’t keep quiet, if the volunteers act against the interests of the ruling party. If any of these volunteers support the Telugu Desam party, they should immediately step down. If they don’t do that, they will be sacked,” he said.

Dharmana said the government had given respectable positions to volunteers, so that they would help the families and earn their respect.

“Why should they continue in their jobs, if they work against the ruling party? If they resign, we shall appoint others in their places,” he warned.

He also told them that if they were not interested in working for YSRC, they should quit their jobs and campaign for the TDP.

He also instructed the officials to prepare a list of such defiant volunteers and send it to him, so that he would see that all of them would be sacked.
