Cops manhandle Vidadala Rajini, arrest her PRO

Andhra Pradesh police allegedly manhandled YSR Congress Party leader and former minister Vidadala Rajini while arresting her public relations officer, Sreekanth Reddy, in Palnadu district on Saturday.

The incident occurred in Manukondavaripalem village, where Rajini had gone to console a grieving family. According to YSRCP sources, the police behaved inappropriately during her visit.

Tensions escalated when police attempted to arrest Sreekanth Reddy, who was travelling with Rajini in her vehicle. They stopped the car and took him into custody, leading to a heated exchange between Rajini and the officers.

Rajini demanded an explanation for the arrest, at which point the Circle Inspector allegedly responded rudely, told her to "move aside," and physically pushed her. He also reportedly threatened to file a case against her. A video of the altercation has since gone viral.

YSRCP leaders strongly condemned the police’s actions, calling it a reflection of the lawlessness under the current coalition government.

They claimed that false cases are being filed against YSRCP leaders and party workers since the new government assumed office.

In a statement, the party criticised the administration’s alleged authoritarian approach, comparing it to a "Red Book rule."

Meanwhile, Rajini is also facing a CID case for allegedly extorting money from a stone crusher business during the YSRCP regime. Her brother-in-law, Gopi, was arrested last month by ACB officials in connection with the same case.
