Conspiracy Behind Desecration Of Idols?

Conspiracy Behind Desecration Of Idols?

There seems to be a largescale conspiracy behind a series of incidents of desecration of idols, theft of images and burning of chariots etc in various temples across Andhra Pradesh in the last few months.

The latest incident of beheading of Lord Ram idol at a temple in Ramatirtham in Vizianagaram district has landed a lot of embarrassment to the Jagan Mohan Reddy government. Though the incident happened four days ago, the persons behind the incident have not been traced.

Naturally, the opposition has started attacking the Jagan government for failing to protect the temples and their properties. Veteran Telugu Desam Party leader and former Union minister P Ashok Gajapathi Raju said the attacks on temples had gone up after Jagan came to power.

He said the Ramatirtham incident was a direct attack on Hindu community which should be condemned by everybody.

It was unfortunate that not a single public representative from the ruling party, including endowments minister Vellampalli Srinivas, had reacted on the incident so far.

On Thursday, chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy took serious view of the incidents of temples desecration. He said the desecration of idols will not be tolerated and stringent action will be taken.

He termed that the destruction of idols is atrocious and God will surely punish those who keep messing with temples and idols. The Chief Minister directed the police to take strict action to prevent such incidents from happening again.
