Big thanks to Naidu, Modi, Pawan: YSRCP

The ruling YSR Congress party on Tuesday expressed its thanks to the partners of National Democratic Alliance in Andhra Pradesh – Telugu Desam Party, Bharatiya Janata Party and the Jana Sena Party – for acknowledging the importance of volunteer system introduced by the Jagan Mohan Reddy government five years ago.

On its official social media handle, the YSRCP wrote: “Big thank you to @ncbn, @NarendraModi, @PawanKalyan for recognizing the power of the revolutionary volunteer system! This is a testament to the success of the Jagananna governance model, compelling even the opposition to embrace and comply with this transformative initiative.“

The party added: “Please don’t worry - 4th of June will be @ysjagan’s swearing in and bringing back of the volunteer system:

The YSRCP said Naidu is under immense pressure from the people for opposing the village volunteers’ system all these days.

On Monday, when Jagan held a meeting with the pensioners in Palnadu, who apprised CM of all the hardships faced by them in drawing pensions this month due to absence of volunteers, Naidu announced to increase the pension amount to Rs 6000.

“The timing of the announcement raised several eyebrows and reflected how Naidu is under immense pressure,” the party said.

On Tuesday, Naidu went ahead further to promise to retain the system and increase volunteer's remuneration up to Rs 10,000. In anticipation of the forthcoming polls, TDP realised that their move has been detrimental for the party and thus changed their stance on the volunteer system.

Naidu's controversial announcement drew a sharp reaction from YSRCP, who castigated the TDP chief in a cryptic tweet and thanked him for recognizing the 'power of revolutionary volunteer system.'
