Things have changed this time, particularly for the birthday celebrations of late chief minister Y S Rajasekhar Reddy at Idupulapaya, where his mortal remains were laid to rest and his memorial is built.
In 2019 and 2020, the first two years, with YSR Congress at the helm in Andhra Pradesh, Jagan Mohan Reddy led the family to the Idupulapaya, where the memorial services were conducted.
In the third year, 2021, things have changed. Jagan Mohan Reddy is not leading the family and he is neither the first child of late YSR to visit the memorial.
YSR’s daughter, Y S Sharmila, is the first child of Dr Rajasekhar Reddy to visit and offer prayers at Idupulapaya.
Sharmila is arriving from Hyderabad to Kadapa and take her mother Vijayamma to the memorial first.
After the daughter leaves, then comes the son, Jagan Mohan Reddy, from Andhra Pradesh.
The schedule at Idupulapaya is fixed in such a way that Sharmila is the first guest followed by Jagan Mohan Reddy.
Sharmila is launching her political party “YSR Telangana Party” to try her luck in Telangana.
On the other hand, Jagan Mohan Reddy is leading Andhra Pradesh to celebrate Dr YSR birthday as government event all over the state as farmers’ day.
