Anam Finding Excuses To Get Out Of YSRC

It looks like senior YSR Congress party leader and former minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy is looking for excuses to get out of the YSRC, as it is more or less confirmed that he won’t get the party ticket in the next assembly elections.

A perennially disgruntled politician in the YSRC, Anam on Wednesday chose to make strong comments against his own party government in the state.

“What have we done to the people in the last four years? With what face should we go into the people to seek their votes?” he asked, at a meeting of village volunteers at Rapuru.

He pointed out that roads were in a bad condition and there was no progress in developmental works. The government was not building agriculture infrastructure.

“Is it enough to spend money on welfare schemes like pensions? Will distribution of pensions alone fetch votes for the party? For that matter, even TDP government led by Chandrababu Naidu gave the pensions,” he reminded.

Anam continued his tirade against the Jagan government, Anam pointed out that the party had promised to build SS canal during the 2019 election campaign but the canal has been stagnant for last 3 years.

“How will the voters vote for us if we can’t stand by our vote?” he asked.

He wondered whether the YSRC government would get back the trust of voters.

“I don’t have a reply when commoners ask me why they should vote for YSRC,” Anam observed.

Anam said many villages do not have drinking water supply still.

“The Centre gives money under Jal Jeevan Mission for providing safe drinking water to the villages. We cannot claim credit for the same. The people will definitely question us as to what we have done for them?” he asked.
