Akhila husband produced fake Covid-19 certificate?

Bowenpalli police in Hyderabad on Wednesday filed a criminal case against Telugu Desam Party leader and former Andhra Pradesh minister Bhuma Akhila Priya’s husband Bhargav Ram and his brother Jagath Vikhyat Reddy for allegedly producing certificates to the court stating that they were affected by Covid-19.

According to the police, Bhargav Ram and Jagath Vikhyat Reddy were supposed to attend the Secunderabad court on July 3, in connection with the alleged kidnap of two persons pertaining to Hafeezpet land dispute.

However, both the accused submitted medical certificates to the court on July 1, stating that they were suffering from Covid-19 and so, they won’t be able to attend the hearing. The court granted them permission.

The Bowenpally examined the medical certificates produced by Bhargav Ram and Jagath Vikhyat Reddy and suspected that they were not genuine.

They made enquiries with the private hospital which issued the certificates and found that they were fake.

As a result, the police booked a criminal case against Akhila’s husband and his brother. They also booked cases against hospital staff Vinay, Ratnakar and Sridevei for issuing fake certificates to the accused.
