ABV Goes To Secretariat, Couldn't Meet CS

Senior police officer, A B Venkateswara Rao, once again visited the Velagapudi secretariat on Wednesday to meet chief secretary Dr Sameer Sarma.

This was his second visit to the secretariat after the Supreme Court quashed his suspension petition as the suspension cannot be continued beyond two years.

ABV, as he is called popularly, submitted the supreme court order to the chief secretary on his first visit on April 29.

ABV also requested the chief secretary to give him fresh posting and also pay his wages with arrears.

It was said that the chief secretary had informed him of starting the process to give him fresh posting.

As there was no response from the chief secretary, the senior IPs officer visited the Secretariat for the second time on Wednesday.

Sources say that the chief secretary had reportedly asked ABV to wait in the waiting room. While ABV was waiting in the room the chief secretary left his office without meeting the police officer.

ABV, a 1989 IPS officer served as the Intelligence wing chief during the TDP regime from 2015 to 2019.

He was accused of irregularities and misconduct in the purchase of security devices for the Intelligence wing.

The state government also issued show cause notices to ABV on two occasions for violation of All India Service rules even during suspension.
