It is a known fact that Andhra Jyothy Telugu daily and ABN-Andhra Jyothy channel headed by Vemuri Radhakrishna, are known for their out and out pro-Telugu Desam Party and particularly pro-Chandrababu Naidu stand.
Most of the times, one would see reports and bulletins only in favour of the Telugu Desam Party-led coalition government in Andhra Pradesh.
The media house has been carrying stories glorifying Amaravati capital city and investments flowing into the capital.
Whenever the opposition YSR Congress party made any negative comments on Amaravati or newspapers like Sakshi published any adverse reports on Amaravati like the flooding of the capital area during recent heavy rains, ABN channel news anchor Venkata Krishna went hammer and tongs at these reports.
But all of a sudden, Venkata Krishna was seen attacking the Naidu government the other day over the plight of farmers who had given away their lands for the capital city due to the inordinate delay in resolving pending issues.
He came down heavily on the TDP-led coalition government for ignoring the sacrifices of farmers and making them run around the APCRDA office for the registration of their plots due to litigations.
Venkata Krishna even pulled up state municipal administration minister P Narayana for hoodwinking the farmers with false promises every now and then and failing to resolve them even after 18 months of the formation of NDA govt in the state.
“Many issues like identification of village boundaries and the survey of lands remain unaddressed and land acquisition for roads continues despite farmers' objections. The farmers said they will not hesitate to launch protests if required. What is the government doing?” he asked.
This makes one wonder whether something has gone wrong between Radhakrishna and the TDP government.
“There are reports that though Radhakrishna enjoys good rapport with Naidu, he is not able to gel with Naidu’s son Nara Lokesh, who is emerging as extra-constitutional authority,” sources said.
