We have all heard the saying “Aavu Vyaasam” (the cow composition). The idea behind this proverb is simple.
A person who knows only how to write an essay about a cow somehow brings the same topic into whatever subject he writes about.
In the same way, ABN Andhra Jyothy’s Radhakrishna brings the topic of Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy into almost anything he writes, no matter what the original subject is.
Recently, on matters related to courts and the judicial system, many hesitate to express their opinions. Right or wrong, Radhakrishna is never afraid to state his view.
The point, however, is that he never goes into the depth of the issue or considers broader social implications.
He simply writes whatever comes to his mind. And his thoughts are often so narrow that even in serious discussions, such as whether a deadline can be given to the President, he finds a way to drag Jagan into it.
He ends up asking when Jagan will be punished, why the inquiries have no fixed timeline, and what kind of investigation this is.
Unless Jagan is immediately jailed and disqualified from elections, Radhakrishna seems unable to trust the judicial system.
Jagan personally appeared in court recently, answered a few routine questions, and left. But Radhakrishna objects even to that, writing as if Jagan should have been sent straight to prison from there.
He even criticizes Jagan for supposedly sitting in a place meant for witnesses rather than the place meant for the accused.
If leaders like P. V. Narasimha Rao or Chandrababu Naidu could respectfully stand before a judge, how can Jagan behave like this and gather crowds outside as a show of strength, he asks.
Whether Jagan sits or stands is of no concern to the judge, yet it becomes an issue for Radhakrishna only because the person involved is Jagan. Every drop of Radhakrishna’s ink seems filled with anti-Jagan venom.
Many observers humorously note that this looks like a typical “Paid Article”, where certain media houses feel obliged to write something to please their preferred clients even when nothing noteworthy is happening.
ABN, they say, seems to be following the same rule. It may be a satisfaction for the TDP folks but comedy for the rest.
