After string of disappointments at the box-office, Sundeep Kishan has turned producer to set things right. This is his maiden production and the film has generated good buzz with its trailer.

Let’s find out its merits and demerits.

Film begins in 2035 in Kukatpally in Hyderabad. A psychiatrist (Murali Sharma) narrates a strange case that came to him two decades ago. Cut to… Rishi (Sundeep Kishan) and Diya (Anya Singh) are newlywed couple.

While driving back home from another place, Rishi indulges in car romance with wife and they meet with an accident. They come to home late night and are shocked to find that they are seeing another person’s faces in the mirror.

Rishi meets a psychiatrist (Murali Sharma) and Diya meets Church father to find out any possession of para normal element.

What is connection with Arjun (Vennela Kishore) and Madhavi and what is the real mystery?

Artistes’ Performances:
Sundeep Kishan has acted in plain manner, nothing special to talk about. Anya Singh looks more like a junior artiste than main lead actress.

Vennela Kishore is okay. Murali Sharma gets good role. Posani Krishna Murali has generated some laughs. Pragati as mother is neat.

Technical Excellence:
The movie has decent technical and production values with Thaman providing best output in re-recording. Other technicians have done just okay job but it is editor who must have slept at the table.

Basic plot
Engaging First half
Interval bang

Weak Second half
Unnecessary comedy

As the title “Ninu Veedani Needani Nene” gave impression that the film is about ghosts and horror elements, the film begins as a spooky horror movie but soon changes the mood and takes us into it with a novel plotline.

A hero and heroine seeing different persons when they peek into mirror is completely novel point on Indian screen. From the moment accident happens, it never provides a dull moment in the first half and the interval bang further deepens the mystery.

The scenes of Sundeep Kishan testing whether any ghost is possessed in his body is quite interesting. Similarly, the total sequence with Murali Sharma – Pragati – Posani and Sundeep Kishan is gripping. Vennela Kishore coming to the fore is well-established. Except minor hiccups, the first half is quite engaging.

Trouble begins thereafter. It is as if the new director Caarthick Raju has decided to tell two different stories in one movie. The second half meanders totally in a wrong path and doesn’t come back.

Also the so-called twist, turns out to be a cheat than a good ploy of the plot line. Thus the second half has literally killed the movie and all the good work shown in the first half.

Who is to blame? We don’t know but too much of commercialization and complete drastic story-telling in the second half has undone everything. The final message in the end though is topical and important, it doesn’t appeal.

On the whole, “Ninu Veedani Needani Nenu” works in the first half and doesn’t in the other half, and becomes less-thrilling movie.

Bottom-line: Wrong Turn!
