This was an incident that took place many years ago sometime in later 30s. Vishwanatha Satyanarayana was lecturer in a college where his younger brother's son Krishna Devarayalu and another student NTR were his disciples.
'Palnati Yudhdham' was a drama written by Vishwantha which he intended to make his students play on stage. Initially Krishnadevarayulu tried to get the lead role 'Nagamma' in that. Those were the days when only men used to play women's roles as well. But Vishwanatha Satyanarayna gave that chance to NTR. He said to Krishnadevarayulu, "A guy has to look smart to play woman's role. NTR owned that stunning attraction". But NTR negated to remove his newly coming moustache to play that role. He acted with those 'noonoogu meesalu' itself.
The drama went on very well and got big acclaim. But the students started teasing NTR calling him 'Meesala Naagamma' for some weeks.
