Dr C Narayana Reddy was the close pal of senior NTR and that was known for all. C Na Re never looked back after getting in touch with NTR for writing the songs for his film 'Gulebakavali Katha' in 1962.
The friendship continued for decades together and when NTR turned CM the poet C Na Re was given big regards from the side of Government as well. He was awarded with prestigious Jnanapeeth at that time by Central Government. NTR used to come till the car of C Na Re and bid an adieu for him closing the door even in the status of CM.
That's all because of C Na Re's command on Telugu.
After a long time when NTR turned CM for the second time another incident was happened. Nagaphani Sarma was introduced by Lakshmi Parvathi to him.
Lakshmi Parvathi said (showing Nagaphani to NTR), "He is a good scholar in Telugu".
NTR replied, "Even you are a scholar".
Then Lakshmi Parvathi said, "He can tell poems in spontaneity".
Nagaphani intruded and talked to NTR, "I'll tell if you permit me".
NTR nodded his head positively.
Nagaphani sang six poems mellifluously on NTR.
NTR was surprised and understood the material in Nagaphani Sarma. He gave a signal to Lakshmi Parvathi. She went inside and brought a shawl. NTR stood and covered Nagaphani with shawl. That's the salute he used to give for poets, scholars and Telugu pundits who possess extra ordinary talents.
Rest of the story is known. Nagaphani Sarma did Dwi Satavadhanam in the presence of NTR and later became a celebrity.
