Ravi Kondala Rao, the veteran writer and actor mentioned a nostalgic though in one of his books.
He says, "Dr Ramanaidu made a film 'Papa Kosam' in 1968. There was a scene in that film where two Brahmin characters travel in a train. Ravi Kondala Rao played one and Allu Ramalingiah played the other. Ravi Kondala Rao says, "Inka Ekkadundayya Braahmanyam? Eppudo Poyindi". When the film went to censor, a big objection was raised there stating that it would be a big controversy as it's hurting a community in general. But Ramanaidu convinced the board members saying, "The dialogue was written by a Brahmin writer (Atreya), it was rendered by Ravi Kondala Rao (Brahmin), director was a Brahmin (GVR Seshagiri Rao). So there wouldn't be any problem".
Censor board asked to give consent in written form by those 3 Brahmins involved in this dialogue. We have given the consent and the dialogue was retained in the film. But nothing happened after that", said Ravi Kondala Rao.
