When Will Vishwambhara Hit the Theaters?

When Will Vishwambhara Hit the Theaters?

Among the Sankranthi 2026 releases, megastar Chiranjeevi’s Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu emerged as the highest-grossing film.

While the film’s full-range numbers will be clear in the coming days, it has already proved one thing convincingly — Chiranjeevi is back on track when it comes to delivering strong openings, especially during the holiday season.

This brings the focus back to Vishwambhara, which has been indefinitely postponed. The big question now is: when will it finally arrive in theatres?

Considering its high budget and the interest accrued due to the prolonged delay, the film can recover its investment only if it releases during a major holiday window. Summer 2026 appears to be the most practical and safe option.

Missing the holiday season could spell trouble. Vishwambhara primarily targets family audiences, and for a film of this scale, it needs at least a five- to six-day holiday stretch to ensure strong openings. Summer remains the only period when families can visit theatres in large numbers.

Visual effects remain the film’s biggest challenge, contributing significantly to the delay. The makers have also reportedly faced hurdles in finalising non-theatrical deals.

However, with Chiranjeevi’s renewed box-office form, the film is now likely to fetch better rates for OTT and other digital rights as well.
