The box office in the United States experienced a massive flop last weekend, as the overseas audience rejected "Shaakuntalam" on its first day.
However, distributors and exhibitors are now ecstatic due to the success of "Virupaksha," starring Sai Dharam Tej.
In just two days, "Virupaksha" broke the half-million dollar mark, setting a new record for Sai Dharam Tej.
By Sunday, the film is expected to surpass the lifetime earnings of his biggest hit in the United States, "Prati Roju Pandage."
The film features Sai Dharam Tej and Samyuktha as the lead actors, with Karthik Dandu directing and BVSN Prasad producing.
The film earned $279k on Friday and approximately $250k on Saturday, bringing its total earnings to $530k.
