Vikranth In The 100 Is An Upgraded Version Of RK Naidu

RK Sagar, who rose to fame with his iconic cop role as RK Naidu in the blockbuster TV serial Mogali Rekulu, returns as IPS officer Vikranth in his upcoming film The 100, slated for release on the 11th of this month.

In an exclusive interview with us, Sagar shared that The 100 stands apart from typical cop dramas. “The 100 is an act. While audiences have seen many police stories, this one presents a fresh perspective that hasn’t been explored before. It’s a compelling blend of commercial elements, family drama, and a gripping investigative thriller.”

The actor, who consciously stayed away from police roles after Mogali Rekulu, revealed what drew him back: “When I heard the story of The 100, I couldn’t resist. I play an IPS officer named Vikranth. It’s a very grounded and realistic portrayal. If I had to choose between RK Naidu and Vikranth, I’d say Vikranth is an upgraded version of RK Naidu.”

Talking about the challenges he faced, Sagar recalled the demanding climax sequence: “I didn’t suffer any injuries while performing the action scenes. But shooting the climax in the rain, alongside both heroines, was quite tough. It turned out to be one of the most intense and realistic sequences in the film. The 100 is inspired by real-life incidents.”

On his personal rapport with Pawan Kalyan, he said, “I have a strong interest in politics and a clear vision for my future. I often meet politicians. Pawan Kalyan once told me, ‘It could be problematic for you if you walk with me,’ out of genuine concern. But I told him I’m ready for any challenge and that I want to stand by him. He’s like an elder brother to me.”

RK Sagar concluded confidently, stating, “The 100 will stay with the audience long after they leave the theatres. It will haunt them for at least two days.”
