US BO: Single is a Hit, Subham is Decent

Sree Vishnu’s recent films have struggled at the box office, and expectations were modest for his latest release, Single, despite being presented by Allu Aravind.

Adding to the skepticism was the underwhelming performance of Geetha Arts’ recent release Thandel, starring Naga Chaitanya, which failed to make an impact in the USA.

However, Single has delivered a surprising turnaround. The film opened strongly for a Sree Vishnu starrer, with its comedy resonating particularly well with North American audiences.

Sree Vishnu’s impeccable comic timing, combined with Vennela Kishore’s witty performance, helped boost the film’s box office performance.

Single grossed over $400K in its opening weekend and is on track to cross the half-million-dollar mark, making it a profitable venture for its distributors.

Meanwhile, Subham, produced by Samantha, had a modest debut. The concept-driven film grossed around $150K in its first weekend.

While this is a respectable start for a content-oriented film, stronger numbers were expected given the positive reviews and strong word-of-mouth.
