US BO Day 2: Dhurandhar 2 Crushes Ustaad

US BO Day 2: Dhurandhar 2 Crushes Ustaad

Pawan Kalyan’s Ustaad Bhagat Singh had a dull start in North America, with weak trends visible right from the pre-sales stage.

For several reasons, the film failed to generate excitement among Telugu audiences overseas. This stands in sharp contrast to the kind of buzz that OG had created.

Many expected the film to pick up after the premiere shows, but the situation worsened after release. It received harsh reviews and largely negative word of mouth, which further damaged its box office prospects.

On Day 2, the film was completely overshadowed by the massive wave of Dhurandhar 2. The Hindi biggie, backed by regular ticket pricing and strong demand, has been dominating screens across North America.

Distributors are reportedly struggling to meet the demand for Dhurandhar 2, while shows of Ustaad Bhagat Singh are witnessing poor occupancy.

On Day 2, the Pawan Kalyan starrer collected under $100K, one of the lowest figures in his recent career.

Even Hari Hara Veera Mallu, which underperformed at the box office, had grossed about $1.02 million within two days.

In comparison, Ustaad Bhagat Singh has managed only around $600K as its two-day cumulative total in North America.

Ustaad Bhagat Singh collected about $515K from Day 1 and premieres combined, followed by approximately $90K on Day 2, taking its total to around $600K.

In contrast, Dhurandhar 2 collected about $3.96 million from Day 1 and premieres, and around $3 million on Day 2, taking its total to nearly $6.9 million.
