Following actor-turned-Jana Sena Party president and Andhra Pradesh deputy chief minister Pawan Kalyan’s public criticism of the Telugu film industry for allegedly disrespecting the state government, key figures in the industry appear to have fallen in line.
A few days ago, Pawan Kalyan expressed his displeasure at members of the film industry, including actors and directors, for failing to meet chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu even once for a courtesy call, despite individually lobbying the government for ticket price hikes and other concessions.
Reportedly, Pawan expressed anger, calling it a "return gift" to the industry. His remarks prompted responses from industry heavyweights like Allu Aravind and Dil Raju, who openly supported his sentiments.
Now, leading Tollywood personalities have decided to meet Naidu under Pawan Kalyan’s leadership. They have requested an appointment for June 15 at 4 PM in Undavalli, with nearly 30 film industry representatives expected to attend.
During the meeting, Allu Aravind and Dil Raju are expected to present the industry’s concerns directly to the chief minister.
Dil Raju stated that Pawan is like an elder brother to him and assured that they would follow his guidance. The exact list of attendees and the issues to be discussed with the chief minister are still awaited with great interest.
