The Raja Saab BO Day 3: Disappointing Sunday

Expectations were sky-high when Prabhas returned to theatres with The Raja Saab.

While the film opened to a decent start considering the actor’s star power, its box-office performance has taken a sharp downward turn since then.

Sunday, which is usually a strong day for films of this scale, turned out to be a major disappointment.

The horror-comedy directed by Maruthi saw a steep fall on Sunday, recording a 62 percent drop compared to its opening day.

Instead of the expected jump, collections continued to slide, extending the declining trend seen from Day 2.

On Day 3, Sunday, January 11, The RajaSaab earned around ₹19 crore net, down from approximately ₹26 crore on Saturday.

The film registered an overall occupancy of just 39.4 percent, which is considered weak for a Prabhas starrer during a holiday weekend.

After three days, the film’s total estimated collection stands at around ₹108 crore.

While crossing the ₹100 crore mark is usually a routine milestone for Prabhas films, the sharp drops and weak Sunday performance have raised concerns about the film’s long-term prospects.

With weekdays ahead, the road looks challenging for Maruthi’s horror-comedy, and trade circles are now closely watching whether the film can stabilise or continue its downward slide at the box office.
