Ram Gopal Varma and Puri Jagannadh are known as guru and sishya in the film industry.
Though for decades, Rama Gopal Varma lived in Mumbai, making many Bollywood films, since his second innings in Telugu cinema with Rakta Charitra, he has been living between Mumbai and Hyderabad.
For the past few years before COVID, he was attached only to Hyderabad, working from his office called Den.
Now, sources say that RGV is permanently shifting to Mumbai very soon, as he is busy with Bollywood films; one with Manoj Bajpai and another, Sarkar 4, with Amitabh Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan.
While his film with Manoj Bajpai is already on sets, Sarkar 4 is going to sets soon, according to Mumbai news.
Sources also say there are a couple of more films lined up for him in Hindi. This means he will likely be living in Mumbai for the next few years.
While this is the case for RGV, the situation for Puri Jagannadh is different.
Puri is known to have lived only in Hyderabad for quite a long time. However, after COVID, and especially during Liger, he moved to Mumbai and settled there. But now has he shifted back to Hyderabad.
Thus, while the guru is going back to Mumbai from Hyderabad, the sishya is returned to Hyderabad from Mumbai.
In this way, both guru and sishya have swapped their geographical locations.
