Mrunal Thakur has opened up about her experience working on Son of Sardaar 2, admitting that certain developments during the film left her taken aback and slightly disappointed.
The actress, currently promoting Dacoit: A Love Story, revealed in an interview that her expectations from the project did not fully match what eventually appeared on screen.
Mrunal said she was unaware of a key casting decision that altered her perception of the film.
“I didn’t know a very senior actor was going to play my husband. That changed my expectations. This is not what I had imagined from the film. There was a bit of trust that was shaken, but I don’t have regrets,” she said.
In Son of Sardaar 2, Mrunal plays Rabia, while Chunky Panday portrays her estranged husband Danish.
The film also stars Ajay Devgn as Jaswinder Singh Randhawa (Jassi) and Neeru Bajwa as Dimple. The story follows two individuals stuck in troubled marriages who gradually develop feelings for each other.
Apart from the casting surprise, Mrunal also expressed disappointment over some of her key scenes being removed during editing.
She recalled an emotional sequence involving her character and a child, which highlighted her sacrifice and maternal bond, but did not make it to the final cut.
Despite these concerns, the actress maintained that she has no regrets and continues to share a cordial relationship with the team.
Son of Sardaar 2 is the sequel to the 2012 film Son of Sardaar, and also features Ravi Kishan, Deepak Dobriyal, and Kubbra Sait in key roles.
