Kollywood star Suriya is working with director RJ Balaji for a mass action entertainer that marks the actor’s reunion with actress Trisha Krishnan, after two decades.
Produced by SR Prakash Babu and SR Prabu of Dream Warrior Pictures, the movie gets a powerful title, announced on the occasion of RJ Balaji’s birthday.
Karuppu is the title, named after a folk deity, often associated with protection and guardianship.
The title poster sees Suriya holding a sword with the statue of the deity behind him, and it is painted red, indicating the intense nature of the movie.
The film’s shooting is nearing completion, while the post-production works are happening simultaneously.
The makers are planning to come up with regular updates, by unveiling first look, teaser, and trailer, one after the other, to generate buzz, ahead of its release.
Young sensation Sai Abhyankar scores the music for the movie, while the cinematography is handled by GK Vishnu.
