Sumanth's Anaganaga OTT Review: A Good Idea That Doesn't Work

ETV Win’s new OTT film Anaganaga tries to talk about problems in our education system. It’s a good topic, and one that needs to be discussed. But sadly, the film doesn’t do justice to the subject.

Sumanth plays the lead role and also came up with the idea for the film. But like many of his past movies, this one too fails to connect with the audience.

His acting feels casual and flat, just like the movie. It’s been 25 years in the industry, but Sumanth still hasn’t found that one memorable film to call his own.

The film reminds you of movies like Taare Zameen Par and 3 Idiots, which made strong points about education and really touched people. But Anaganaga feels more like a slow conversation than an emotional story. There is no drama or gripping moments to keep you interested.

Kajal Chaudhary, the heroine, doesn’t have much to do. Her expressions and performance are plain. On the other hand, the child actor who plays Sumanth’s son does a decent job. But the story doesn’t give enough space for any of the characters to shine.

Since it’s an OTT film with a small budget, the production quality is average. The story also has some parts that feel similar to the film Jersey, but it doesn’t have the same emotional pull.

In the end, Anaganaga had a strong message to share. But the poor presentation, lack of engaging scenes, and weak performances make it fall flat. It’s a missed opportunity.

A good subject wasted. Watch it only if you're curious, but don’t expect too much.
