Everyone in the industry was taken aback when IT officials raided director Sukumar's offices and homes. However, insiders say that the director's activities have long been scrutinized by the IT department.
Sukumar has worked on a variety of projects, and several of his assistants have gone on to become directors.
He is still involved in those projects as a screenwriter and mentor, and he will also receive a portion of the profits.
Additionally, the remuneration for the second installment of "Pushpa" has been significantly increased.
During today's searches, Sukumar was reportedly questioned about the money he earned from the various projects in which he was involved.
