Actress Tamannaah Bhatia dismissed claims of supporting Deepika Padukone amid the controversy surrounding the film Spirit, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga.
Reports emerged after netizens noticed Tamannaah had liked a video where Deepika confronted a reporter for assuming her husband funded Chhapaak, a film she herself produced.
The video criticized sexism, gender pay gaps, and unprofessionalism.
Fans interpreted Tamannaah's 'like' as support for Deepika, who allegedly exited Spirit after Vanga rejected her conditions on pay and work hours.
Vanga later accused Deepika of leaking the story after being dropped, questioning her feminism and professionalism without naming her.
Tamannaah responded indirectly via Instagram, saying, "Can Instagram pls figure out how it likes pages on its own?" denying any intentional support and stressing she had more important work.
Triptii Dimri has since been named as the female lead opposite Prabhas in Spirit. Deepika has not made an official statement yet.
