Sankranthi 2021: Four-Way Fight at the Theaters

Sankranthi 2021: Four-Way Fight at the Theaters

The openings for “Solo Brathuke So Better” has given a much-needed boost of confidence for the producers.

The film has proved that filmgoers are ready to come to the theaters to watch the films on the big screen despite coronavirus scare.

No wonder that four producers have now announced their release plans for Sankranthi 2021.

One dubbed movie, three straight Telugu movies will compete with each other for the festival period.

In a way, we are going to witness the competition that we normally see every year during the Pongal festival. The pandemic has not changed the scenario.

Tamil superstar Vijay’s “Master” will be the first film to hit the theaters. The film has announced its release date as Jan 13, 2021.

After the success of “Whistle” and “Adirindi”, Vijay has gained a decent market in the Telugu states as well.

Two of our much-awaited Telugu films – Ram Pothineni’s “Red” and Ravi Teja’s “Krack” have already announced January 14th as their release dates. There are reports that Ravi Teja’s film may come on 12th January to avoid the competition.

However, there is no official confirmation on that. Ravi Teja and Ram will have to fight directly if they stick to the same release dates.

Bellamkonda Sai Srinivas starrer “Alludu Adhurs” has turned up the heat by entering the competition. The film will release on 15th January.

Altogether, these four films have locked release plans for Pongal 2021. So, the theatrical business is back!
