Samantha Opens Up About Her 'Toxic' Relationship

Samantha Opens Up About Her 'Toxic' Relationship

Samantha Ruth Prabhu has always been transparent about her personal health journey and lifestyle changes.

Admirers often praise her strength and discipline, especially after she revealed her battle with the autoimmune condition myositis.

Now, the actress is shedding light on another aspect of her well-being — her “toxic” relationship with her mobile phone.

In a candid conversation on her health-focused podcast Take 20, Samantha reflected on how excessive phone usage had disrupted the balance she had worked hard to build in her daily life.

“I had made so many positive changes and was happy with the routine I had created,” she shared. “But the one thing I couldn’t control was this compulsion to reach for my phone. I kept justifying it as work—telling myself it needed to be done. But I started questioning that false sense of urgency.”

In an effort to regain control, Samantha took a drastic step — she enrolled in a three-day silent retreat, completely disconnecting from her phone and the outside world.

“No phone, no communication, no eye contact, no reading, no writing — absolutely no stimulation of any kind,” she said. “Your brain just slows down.”

Fighting Back Against Body Shaming

Recently, Samantha also hit back at online trolls criticizing her for looking too thin. Sharing a video of herself doing bar pull-ups in the gym, she wrote on Instagram:

“Here’s the deal. You don’t get to call me skinny, sickly or any of that crap unless you can do 3 of these first. If you can’t… then read between the frikkin lines…”

Upcoming Projects

On the professional front, Samantha was last seen in Citadel: Honey Bunny opposite Varun Dhawan and made a cameo appearance in her debut production, Subham.

She’s now gearing up for the release of Maa Inti Bangaram in Telugu and the upcoming action series Rakt Brahmand: The Bloody Kingdom.
