The Andhra Pradesh government seems to be showing its gratitude to Superstar Rajinikanth.
Rajinikanth had openly expressed solidarity with Chandrababu Naidu during his arrest in a scam case under the previous YS Jagan government.
Following this, not only did Lokesh wish Rajinikanth’s Coolie great success on social media, but the state also approved a steep hike in ticket prices.
While distributors in Telangana rolled back their price hike for Coolie after facing backlash, distributors in Andhra Pradesh have gone ahead with premium pricing - charging nearly Rs 500 per ticket for extra shows.
For regular shows, prices have been increased by Rs 75 in single screens and Rs100 in multiplexes.
In contrast, Telangana has capped Coolie ticket prices at Rs295. Advance bookings are already open.
