Akhanda 2 has wrapped up its first weekend at the box office with decent numbers, but signs of concern are already visible.
Akhanda 2 performed well in its first two days at the box office, earning an estimated ₹46 crore net in India. On Day 3, the film added around ₹15 crore net across all languages.
On Sunday, December 14, 2025, the film recorded an overall 51.77% Telugu occupancy.
Morning shows saw 30.95% occupancy, which picked up significantly in the afternoon with 61.06%. Evening shows remained strong at 70.26%, while night shows registered 44.81% occupancy.
While strong turnout for night shows continues, the nearly 50% dip in business over the weekend is a worrying trend.
All eyes are now on the crucial first Monday, December 15, which is expected to decide the film’s short-term box office trajectory.
In the film, Nandamuri Balakrishna reprises his role as Akhanda, a fierce protector of Hinduism.
In the sequel, he faces off against Aadhi Pinisetty, who plays a mystic with supernatural powers capable of summoning a demonic skeleton.
High-octane action sequences featuring Balakrishna remain one of the film’s major highlights.
The cast also includes Samyuktha, Harshaali Malhotra, Kabir Duhan Singh, and others in key roles.
After completing its theatrical run, Akhanda 2 is expected to stream on Netflix, with January 9 being the tentative OTT release date, though an official confirmation is still awaited.
