Ravi Teja or Producers, Who Should be Blamed?

Ravi Teja or Producers, Who Should be Blamed?

Only Telugu stars enjoy certain privileges. Anywhere in the world, a star's graph goes up and down based on their success or failures, and accordingly, remuneration keeps changing.

But only in the Telugu film industry, heroes like Ravi Teja are being offered more money despite delivering flops.

Ravi Teja’s remuneration was in the range of Rs 12 crore before the release of “Krack”. His paycheck for him now stands at Rs 18 Cr. What has happened between “Krack” and now?

He has delivered two big flops – “Khiladi” and “Ramarao On Duty”?

Who is at fault here? When producers agree to his demands irrespective of the low success rate, would he stop asking more?

In the last decade (2012), he delivered only three blockbusters (“Balupu”, “Raja The Great” and “Krack”) and one average out of 17 releases.

He used to deliver a hit at least for every three releases before 2010. But he had given only three blockbusters in the last ten years.

His theatrical business dwindled. His sole strength is the non-theatrical market. But the production cost for his films is on par with big stars.

Nearly Rs 100 crore was spent by the respective producers of “Khiladi” and “Ramarao On Duty”. These two movies didn’t even collect Rs 20 Crore from the theatrical market.

He still has four films in his hands. His producers tell many tales about his demanding nature during filmmaking and his strict attitude towards money.

It’s high time that the producers realize the situation and come to terms with reality. Just because he is doling out dates immediately if handsome remuneration is offered, the producers gain nothing but losses.

It’s also time for Ravi Teja to think about the plight of producers and focus on the stories.
