PS1 Utter Disaster On Satellite TV

Filmmaker Mani Ratnam's highly anticipated Ponniyin Selvan: Part 2 is set to hit theaters on April 28th this year.

Fans are eagerly anticipating the release of this epic saga on the big screen, with expectations running high after the massive success of the first installment, which earned over Rs 400 crore at the box office after its release on September 30th last year.

While the film did exceptionally well in Tamil Nadu, it did not perform as well as expected in the Hindi belt or the Telugu-speaking states, leaving box office collections in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana underwhelming, despite the presence of a star-studded cast.

In fact, the Telugu-speaking audience also rejected Ponniyin Selvan: Part 1 on television when it was broadcasted on the popular Telugu channel Gemini TV on Sunday, February 26th, garnering a highly disappointing TRP rating of 2.17 in its television premiere.

However, the film's team remains optimistic that the second part will be a game-changer and leave a lasting impression on audiences across India.

The movie boasts a stellar cast that includes Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Trisha, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sobhita Dhulipala, Prabhu, R Sarathkumar, Vikram Prabhu, Jayaram, Prakash Raj, Rahman, and R Parthiban, with Academy Award-winning composer AR Rahman providing the music for this monumental project.

The film is being bankrolled by Lyca Productions and Madras Talkies.
