When it comes to Prabhas films, a sequel is almost a given. Kalki 2 is already in the works, and Salaar 2 is also expected. Now, Raja Saab has joined that list.
The film, directed by Maruthi, will also have a Part 2, as confirmed by producer Vishwa Prasad.
"Raja Saab 2 is definitely happening, but it won’t be a direct continuation of Part 1. It will follow the same theme and elements, but will be a different story within the same franchise," the producer revealed.
As for Raja Saab, the talkie part is almost complete, with only a few songs remaining. The film is expected to be fully ready by the last week of October. However, the release date is yet to be finalised.
“There’s strong buzz among fans for a Sankranti release. The business circles are pushing for January 9, while the Hindi distributors prefer December 5, since there are no major releases in the North at that time. But ultimately, we will go with the date that suits us best,” said the producer.
The initial footage of Raja Saab runs over 4.5 hours. Director Maruthi is currently working on trimming it down to around 2 hours and 45 minutes. If possible, the final runtime may even go up to 3 hours.
