Why do some songs become chartbusters while others fail despite having a big star cast?
Many say it's all about the music, the rendition and to an extent the lyrics. They are in fact mandatory. But above all, it is the choreography and the hook step that matter the most.
If we see "Naatu Naatu" becoming a national sensation, it is because of the choreography by Prem Rakshit. That hook step went viral, and the song was recreated as reels by people across India and even Japan.
Next, the most remembered are the songs from Pushpa, especially the "Srivalli" song where Allu Arjun drags his feet as if missing his slipper and wears it again, that hook step became nationally famous, and thousands of reels were made.
The same goes with the “Chikiri" step and the "Meesala Pilla" kerchief step, where hundreds of reels were created.
So the song-makers and choreographers should focus on creating reel-worthy moments for netizens. Only then do songs work and become hits.
This is what is missing in the Raja Saab song or Jajikaya song, which is a major reason they are not connecting with the audience.
Adding to that, weak lyrics and music also contributed to weak choreography and that resulted in failure despite having a strong star cast.
