Pawan Kalyan’s gangster drama OG is setting the trade on fire weeks before release.
Directed by Sujeeth and produced by DVV Danayya, the film has turned its craze into record-breaking business.
Danayya wasted no time and closed the theatrical deals even before Hari Hara Veera Mallu hit the screens, refusing to shave off even a single rupee from his quotes.
The result - super-solid business that has stunned the industry.
In Andhra, the film’s rights were snapped up for a jaw-dropping ₹80 crore. Ceded clocked in at ₹23 crore, while the Nizam market was locked at ₹50 crore.
Agreements have already been signed across most regions, though the Nizam figure may go higher if additional ticket rates flow in. Andhra, of course, is always bolstered by special rates and special shows, making recovery easier.
The trust in OG is unshakable. Word is that Sujeeth crafted the script over a long grind with valuable inputs from Trivikram, adding weight to the project and confidence among buyers. But the stakes are enormous.
For OG to justify its Andhra price tag of ₹80 crore, it must outdo even Pushpa 2, which stopped at ₹70 crore in the region.
With overseas bookings already looking red-hot, the trade believes the first weekend will decide it all. If special shows explode and the hype sustains, buyers could rake in their investments in record time.
OG isn’t just riding a wave of buzz - it’s carrying the weight of massive expectations.
The question now is simple: can Pawan Kalyan’s gangster saga bulldoze its way past Pushpa 2 and carve its name in the box-office record books?
